Case study
Exhibition by Cuban American artist Jorge Pardo at the Irish Museum of Modern Art Dublin
When artist Jorge Pardo was commissioned by the Irish Museum of Modern Art to design a large site specific art installation SAS Graphics were called in to produce this ambitious project. Our brief was to cover the entire east wing of the museum with a digitally printed wall covering. This comprised of a corridor over 100 metres long and eight side rooms and interconnecting vestibules. A surveyor was appointed to create CAD elevations of each wall from which we are able to accurately size and print the wall covering.
We printed self adhesive vinyl in sections 3 metres high x 1.5 metres wide. Each section was meticulously art worked with the correct overlap required for a fast accurate installation. This comprised of over 800 pieces totalling 2.5 linear kilometres of printed, laminated vinyl. this was shipped and then installed by SAS Graphics in only 4 days ready for the opening of his new exhibition.
